Proverbs 15: 11: Hell and
destruction are before the LORD: how much more then the hearts of the
children of men?

O, Father, what sweet comfort to know “my times are
in thy hand.” Every detail in my life right
now, you ordained from eternity and brought to pass especially for my good and
the glory of Christ my All!

LORD
KEEP OUR EYES AND HEARTS ON YOU
There is a song in our hymn book that says, “Stayed upon Jehovah, hearts are fully blessed -
finding, as He promised, perfect peace and rest.” Oh, how true that is!
When our hearts are sincerely, fervently looking
to Christ, we see a God who TRULY IS GOD. We see a purpose that is ordered and
sure. We see a salvation that is forever settled in heaven. And we see an
eternal home that is so much better than the pilgrimage we’re
passing through now. We see a Husband who loves us and gave Himself for us. We
see a Friend that will stick closer to us than a brother. We see a Shepherd who
will watch over our every move, keeping His all-seeing eye on everything
concerning us. We see safety. We see mercy. We see grace. We see help in our
time of need. Every time we look to Christ, we see lasting joy. We see
contentment. We see perfect peace and rest.
The
great blessing that God’s people
have on this earth is the God given ability to look to Christ. That will
forever be our blessing. The more we can look to Him, the more joy we will
have, the more contentment we will have, the more peace we will have, and the
more rest we will have.
Lord, keep our eyes and our hearts
on you. Gabe Stalnaker

As I have thought of some of my dear brothers and sisters that I have
seen die very sweetly, and I have remembered that they were, in life, lowly and
self-distrustful, I have compared them to persons who, when they drink their
tea, forget to stir the sugar at the bottom of the cup. How doubly sweet the
drink becomes as they near the bottom: they have more sweetness than they can
well bear. Would it not be wise to stir the tea at once and enjoy the sweetness
from the brim to the bottom? In the midst of affliction, God through the gospel
“Stirs up your pure minds to faith” This is the benefit of faith as to the
future, for it flavors the present with delight. Charles Spurgeon

Moses and the
people were in the desert, but what was he going to do with them? They had to
be fed. And feeding 2 or 3 million
people requires a lot of food. According to the Quartermaster General in the
Army, it is reported that Moses would have to have had 1500 tons of food each
day. Do you know that to bring that much food each day, two freight trains,
each a mile long, would be required!
Besides, you must remember, they were out
in the desert, so they would have to have wood to use in cooking the food. This
would take 4000 tons of wood and a few more freight trains, each a mile long,
just for one day. And just think, they were forty years in transit.
And, oh yes! They would have to have water.
If they only had enough to drink and wash a few dishes, it would take
11,000,000 gallons each day, and a freight train with tank cars, 1800 miles
long, just to bring water!
And then another thing! They had to get
across the Red Sea at night. (They did?) Now, if they went on a narrow path,
double file, the line would be 800 miles long and would require 35 days and
nights to get through. So, there had to be a space in the Red Sea 3 miles wide
so that they could walk 5000 abreast to get over in one night.
But then, there is another problem. Each
time they camped at the end of the day, a campground two-thirds the size of the
state of Rhode Island was required, or a total of 750 square miles long...think
of it! This space just for nightly camping.
Do you think Moses figured all this out
before he left Egypt? I think not! You see, Moses believed God. God took care
of these things for him. Now do you think God has any problem taking care of
all your needs? Copied from brother Milton Howard’s
bulletin

When I am weak
and feel some measure of strength from being so then I am not weak. When I am
so weak that Christ, outside and apart from me, is the only hope I have then I am
strong.

CHRIST IS ENOUGH
Genesis 45: 26: And told
him, saying, Joseph is yet alive, and he is governor over all the
land of Egypt. And Jacob’s heart fainted, for he believed them not. 27: And
they told him all the words of Joseph, which he had said unto them: and when he
saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob their
father revived: 28: And Israel said, It is enough; Joseph my son is
yet alive: I will go and see him before I die.
Jacob’s
heart fainted because he believed not. But they continued to tell him all the words
of Joseph. Then when Jacob saw wagons
sent by Joseph to carry him his spirit came alive. His name was changed, “Israel said, ‘It is
Enough!’’ He believed the word that
the son was yet alive and determined to go and see him before he died.
When we first hear the gospel preached our
heart faints because we believe not. But
after hearing the gospel the Spirit makes us behold the wagons of full
provision Christ has provided to carry us the whole way to glory. Then our hearts are revived. A new man is created in the name of Christ (Is
49: 3; Gen 32: 28). In Christ’s name, in
the Prince of peace, we have Power with God and have prevailed. The heart cries,
“It is enough, Christ my Lord is alive!
I will go and see him before I die.”
May God work this in our hearts today!

Sinners so ashamed
of their sins that they dare not confide in the humblest in religion for fear
of judgment and scorn find the Lord Jesus so meek and lowly that they can
confess their most shameful transgressions and not only never be turned away but
find the comforting embrace of immutable love and mercy.
