THE ONLY PROMISE KEEPER

Acts 13: 29-37

If they had questions about the actions of their rulers in Jerusalem and about departing from the old covenant, then surely they would have a question about the fact that Christ was crucified, and buried and laid in a sepulcher. Paul declares that the promises of God did not stop on the cross, but they continued.  Joseph of Aramethea, a wealthy man, a disciple of Christ, begged Pilot that he might have the body of Jesus.  He took the body, and he along with Nicodemus, also wealthy man, prepared his body and laid him in a brand-new sepulcher, where never a man had laid. Even this was promised before by God in the scriptures (Isaiah 53:9)  But God raised him from the dead, because of his covenant promise to his Son, to Abraham, to which the law and prophets give witness (Acts 13: 30-37.)

Know this dear sinner, God is faithful.  Every promise he made in Christ he makes good on.  God the Father in Christ Jesus, the Son of God, is the Holy One worthy to be trusted.  In fact, he is the only one.  Trust not in man but flee to Christ in faith today.  He is the only promise keeper (Isaiah 2: 22.)
