FROM WHOM IS THE WORD OF GOD?

The Bible is the word of Holy God. “All scripture is given by inspiration of God.” (2 Tim 3: 16) No other religious book is the word of God. Some argue that the Bible are the words of men. God used men to pen the words of this book. But men wrote what the Spirit of God dictated to them. David said, “The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue. The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me.” (2 Sam 23: 2-3)  The apostle Peter walked with God, spake to God face-to-face and was there when the Lord was transfigured and saw Christ in his glory. But Peter said, “We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” (2 Pet 1: 19-21) One proof that the Bible is the word of God is the reaction this book creates a reaction in men. This book manifests what dominates a person’s heart.  For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Heb 4: 12) The key to understanding this book, first, is to receive it as it is, the word of holy God.
