HOW CAN I BE ANTINOMIAN?

Romans 3: 31: Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law…4: 3: For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.

From this day forward I emphatically declare to my accusers that it is absolutely impossible for me to be an antinomian!   Through God-given faith I have perfectly established the law of God in righteousness the same as Abraham did 430 years before the law was given at Mt. Sinai, and that, by the successful finished work of Christ, who established the law in perfection on my behalf.  A man is not anti-law who refuses to tell sinners the lie that they can keep the law of God or who refuses to reduce the law to a level to make them imagine they can.  I can jump over a barn if you let me build the barn! But God so refuses to lower the requirements of his righteous law that when sin was found on his Son, he spared not his own Son but delivered him up to justice, fulfilling the righteousness of the law for all his elect!

Therefore, every preacher who has heard this truth yet takes professing believers from Mt. Calvary back to Mt. Sinai insisting they must keep the law for justification or sanctification in order to be saved is not only an antinomian but anti-Christ!  Not only do they make void the law, they make faith void, they make God’s promise of no effect, and they make the blood of Christ to have been shed in vain!  (Rom 4: 14; Gal 2: 21)

?-----------------------------?

Rom 10: 3: For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. 4: For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. 5: For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them. 6: But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise,…9: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10: For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

CHRIST IS WISDOM

Christ’s silence as a lamb before his shearers while suffering at the hands of the cruel mob manifests that Christ is Wisdom. Scripture says, “Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you?” Is that not Christ? He goes on to show how the wise man’s wisdom is manifest. “Let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.” (Ja 3: 13) Again, Proverbs says, “He that hath knowledge spareth his words: and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit.” (Pro 17: 27) In preeminent suffering we behold preeminent sparing of words when before his enemies Christ “opened not his mouth.”

Christ is the Wisdom of God. When God makes Christ Wisdom unto us then we cease thinking everything is about us, cease insisting everything revolve around us, cease looking to our understanding, cease opening our mouth in rebuttal with our “I thought I would get my way.” When Christ is our Wisdom his grace makes us submit in meekness to God’s Way desiring Christ to receive all the glory of whom it is said, “by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many.” (Is 53: 11)

NOT ALL HAVE OBEYED THE GOSPEL

Romans 10: 16: But they have not all obeyed the gospel.  For Esaias (Isaiah) saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

Unbelief is a fact that every saint must come to grips with, especially those who are called to the public ministry of Christ.  Not everyone who hears the gospel believes the gospel and those that believe not shall be damned. (Mark 16: 16)

When I look into the faces of our young adults and the faces of others who can hear with total disregard, with no interest, and hear as though the Lord will give them this privilege forever, it makes cold chills run down my back.  Families, mothers, daughters, sons or wives come, but in unbelief, withdraw themselves from the assembly.  There have been many through the years.  The road to reprobation has its beginning in suppressing the light of revelation.  God’s wrath is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness.

They hear it, understand it, and they will not receive it, obey it or believe it.  For this cause God shall send them strong delusion that they should believe a lie:  That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasures in unrighteousness. (II Thessalonians 2: 11-12)  As the unbelieving Jews received the curse of God, our Lord bowed His head and said, "I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and the prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.  Even so Father, for so it seemed good in thy sight. (Matthew 11: 20-26)

You cannot help those who will not receive your help.  Those who will not hear the gospel close the door of mercy and according to the scriptures, have nothing but a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation which shall devour the adversaries.   (Hebrews 10: 27) Pastor Darvin Pruitt

FAILED CLOKES

In this day where ninety-nine percent of preaching is mixed with the disannulling poison of works, when it is like finding an oasis in the dessert to find where Christ and him crucified is the only message preached, if anyone or anything can keep a professing believer from where God is sending forth the truth of his Son then there is a problem in the heart. The heart in which the Spirit of Truth dwells despises and cannot continue under the man-exalting dung which dishonors the one who laid down his life for his people. That is fact!  Excuses for rejecting the gospel are only failed attempts at cloaking the real issue. Failed, because Christ said, “If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.” (Jn 15: 22)

RIGHTEOUSNESS AND SANCTIFICATION

1 Peter 2: 22: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth…24: Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Christ was given a body by God the Father in which to bear the sins and bear the stripes of God’s people. He had to do so for God to be just and the Justifier of all who believe on Christ. As Christ bore our sins and our stripes, Christ had to be perfect in holiness of heart in faith and fidelity unto God. His holy obedience of heart unto death was as necessary to fulfilling the law as his bearing our sins and stripes in his own body on the tree because God looks on the heart.  Therefore, Christ is made Sanctification and Righteousness unto those born of God’s grace and given faith to rest in him!  We are made holy by Christ our Holiness formed in us. We are made righteous by Christ our Righteousness who established the law on our behalf.  In order to declare that Christ is the Righteousness and Sanctification of his people, after he finished the work, the double cure of blood and water poured out of his wounded side.  Therefore, “Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, AND in whose spirit there is no guile.” (Ps 32: 2)
