Proverbs 1: 5:  A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels: 6: To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.

The wise man is one who will hear the gospel of Christ. But he does not only hear, he will increase learning by giving himself to Christ’s word.  May God pour out his Spirit in our hearts, making us wise to seek Christ more. God says the man of discernment shall attain.

Isaiah 65: 17: For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

THE GOOD NEWS FROM HEAVEN TO LOST SINNERS

The good news from heaven to lost sinners, that glorious gospel of salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ, is not a message of God’s hopeful expectation to save, but of a salvation purposed and accomplished.  It is not a message of Jesus Christ knocking at the door of the sinner’s heart, hoping to gain an entrance, but of His determination and ability to give a new heart to whom He will.  It is not a message of the Holy Spirit striving with the sinner’s natural will, hoping to influence him to decide for Jesus, but of His purpose and ability to make sinner’s willing, causing them to flee to the Lord Jesus Christ (See 2 Tim.1:9; Ps.110:3; John 17:2; Isa.53:11).—Maurice Montgomery

AARON LOOKED, AARON CONFESSED, MOSES CRIED

Numbers 12: 9: And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and he departed. 10: And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous. 11: And Aaron said unto Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned. 12: Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he cometh out of his mother’s womb. 13: And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, Heal her now, O God, I beseech thee.

Aaron and Miriam sinned against God by speaking evil of their brother, Moses.  Therefore, God made Miriam leprous.  Aaron was the high priest of God. It was his responsibility to look upon a leper and pronounce them leprous. So he was called to look upon Miriam. It is not hard to imagine Aaron’s shame and how his heart was broken to do that! He partook of the sin for which Miriam was made leprous. Yet, he was not made leprous. His own flesh and blood was made leprous in his place while he went free. By this chastening, God brought Aaron to cry out to the very one he sinned against, Moses, begging him to intercede with God on his behalf.  And when Aaron confessed his sin, that very one he sinned against interceded for him.

Believer, though we committed the sin, though we deserved the justice, God brought us to look upon Christ, our flesh and blood, who was made sin for us that we might go free.  Each time we need chastening, God has brought us to look upon Christ.  This look brings us to the feet of Christ, the very one against whom we have sinned. The love of Christ constrains us to confess our sin. How amazing! The one we sinned against intercedes for us before the Father and heals us.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins:” (1 Jn 1: 9-10; 2: 1-2)

ALWAY

Matthew 28: 18: And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19: Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Everyday this world becomes increasingly more hostile toward Christ and his people, especially as we declare the gospel of Christ which he has sent us to preach. But Christ assures his people, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.”  With the GodMan as our Strength, Christ says, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations.”  Then he adds one more word of assurance, “I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.” Believer, scripture declares many ways Christ shall be with you, alway.
