Joshua 24: 19: And Joshua
said unto the people, Ye cannot serve the LORD: for he is an holy God; he is a
jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.
How can anyone read this verse and think
that they can come to God by their wisdom, will or works? We need one who is the perfect servant of the
LORD to serve in our place; the one who is holy God who took the humanity of
his people to please the holy God; the one whose heart was so set on glorifying
God that there could be no jealousy in God toward him; we need the one with no
transgressions and no sins who put away the transgressions and sins of his
people. We need the GodMan, Christ Jesus
the Lord! There is no serving God apart
from submission and rest in His Son through faith. Sinner, flee to Christ today; believer, look
nowhere else!
